Originally from the Sydney, Australia, Campbell is a bit Joan Jett meets PJ Harvey.
Songwriting from an early age and singing in the Sydney Youth Choir led this tearaway poet with a guitar to Manhattan.
A long term resident of New York City, Ariane is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Art, whose Alumni includes some of her heroes: Grace Kelly, Carrie Ann Moss, Paul Rudd and Kate Moennig.
Campbell is the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for the no holds barred alternative rock band the Cutaway, which has Rory Mackenzie (The Church/ D’Addarrio + Gretsch Sponsored) on Drums.

Noteworthy is good press in The Brag, The Music, and LOTL Magazines, as well as being nominated for three Australian Independent Music Awards.
Campbell pays no mind to critics, stating: “‘Behind every criticism is longing’ Esther Perel said that. I understand that there is a distinct difference between critics and artists: Critics criticise; which is easy, it’s low risk, low accountability, based in fear, and takes almost no skill and no effort. Conversely, artists create, artists practice, hone craft, take leaps of faith and share. As artists, we cultivate belief and give generously, fearlessly putting ourselves and our work out there. Artists step into the arena and face the lion, come hell or highwater. Obviously I am an Artist and not a Critic. For which I am grateful. Such is my fate and I accept it. Wholeheartedly”.
Several residencies from 2010- 2024, including: The Divine Cafe (Brooklyn, NY), The Basement (Sydney), The Exchange Hotel (Sydney), The Oxford Circus (Sydney) and London Unplugged (London, UK) add to Campbell’s credibility and work ethic as an artist.
2022 had Campbell touring and playing solo acoustic gigs in London, where she made eclectic/ brilliant friends, and met her English fanbase for the first time.
Earlier in 2022, Ariane was a featured artist at the YCK Laneway Festival at Papa Gedes Bar. Her sets for the Festival were promoted with this tagline from the City of Sydney: “Come and see Ariane Campbell play an original acoustic set, infused with a few of your favourite covers, whilst downing shots of whiskey and flirting mercilessly with the crowd.”
Ariane counts the call-up to be the support act for legendary band The Troggs on their "Wild Thing" 50th Anniversary Tour, as being a career highlight. “That was certainly one of those magical moments where the stars aligned to put this kid from Sydney who grew up revering Chrissy Amphlett and Divinyls’ version of ‘Wild Thing’, on stage, on tour, with the band who originally released the iconic song”, Campbell said.
Ariane has also appeared as an actor in "VEEP" (HBO), "WITNESS" (Channel 7, Australia) and "PRANKED" (MTV USA), a few more American ads, as well as being a thrice produced playwright and member of the Australian Writers Guild.
